DESCRIPTION

The Andorra flag was officially adopted in 1866.

The flag features three equal vertical bands of blue, yellow, and red with the national coat of arms centered in the yellow band. Those colors are said to represent Andorra'a independence from both France and Spain, as blue and red were taken from France, while red and yellow were taken from Spain. The motto at the bottom of the shield translates as "Strength United is Stronger."
