Rhode Island was admitted into the Union on May 29, 1790 becoming our Nation's 13th state

The quarter honors the "Ocean State" and features a vintage sailboat gliding through the famous Narragansett Bay with an image of the Pell Bridge in the background. Sailing is Rhode Island's most popular sport, thus is called the "sailing capital" of the world.
