Mississippi was admitted into the Union on December 10, 1817 becoming our Nation’s 20th State. Nicknamed the "Magnolia State," Mississippi's quarter features the beauty and elegance of the state flower, combining the blossoms and leaves of two magnolias.
The coin bears the inscription "The Magnolia State".
