Landforms of the 50 U.S. States
Landforms are geological features that make up the surface of the earth. There are many types of landforms, and some of the most common include bays, deserts, forests, hills, islands, lakes, mountains, plains, rivers, swamps, and so on.
Most landforms are created by the natural actions of wind and water over long periods of time; others by volcanic activity, both active and inactive. Some were formed by glacier movements during the Ice Ages.
